A cytological examination has been made of the undermentioned forms of Prunus with a view to finding out if the chromosome numbers throw any light on their origin. The forms investigated were obtained from the East Mailing Research Station and are commonly used as rootstocks for grafting varieties of the plum and allied fruits . . .
