Title: Genetic Analysis of Glutamate Oxaloacetate Transaminase from Leaves of Cretan Tulip Species

Abstract:
An efficient procedure for the identification of tulip populations by leaves, based on polymorphism in the isozymes of GOT is described. All the five species analysed by their GOT banding patterns could be uniquely identified by using native PAGE of leaf protein extracts. The isoenzyme analysis of Tulipa saxatilis Sieber ex Sprengel indicates that this species presents a genotypic differentiation in different populations.
